Throughout my career in both education and technology, I have developed learning experiences that are engaging, relevant, and accessible for all learners.
I firmly believe that effective eLearning requires the learner to not simply complete a course, but instead reflect on what what they have learned and apply that to the real world; reflection leads to changed behavior, and though eLearning solutions cannot solve every problem, authentic learning can lead to actionable change and growth.
As a result, I've developed eLearning that effectively up skills internal stakeholders within fast-growing organizations and allows them to apply their learning through knowledge application activities rather than completing simple knowledge checks. I've also designed customer education that addresses customer product knowledge gaps and that significantly boosts business growth.
I am a proud gay Mexican American who has had the immense privilege of living in various parts of the world. I was born in Tijuana, México, but I grew up in both Los Angeles, California and Nashville, Tennessee. I earned a BA with honors and distinction from Yale University and a MA in Education from Stanford University. I then went on to live and work in Washington, DC and Mexico City.
Living in multiple places has enriched my perspective, expanded my creativity, and sharpened my ability to be a quick learner, an effective problem solver, and be highly adaptable. I've been able to apply these qualities to my work as a learning and development expert; in fact, learning and development has been my passion and zone of genius since I began teaching English to Latino immigrants when I was in high school.
When I am not developing high-impact learning experiences, you can find me eating yummy food, spending time in lovely coffee shops, and traveling the world. I also enjoy listening to music and spending time with loved ones. So if you're a huge foodie and world traveler, let's definitely connect!
